Phoenix Gymnastics was created by Mike Payne, a former NCAA gymnast from the Mid West. After finishing his competitive career, Mike became General Manager and Head Coach of M.A.T.S gymnastics. In the early 80’s Mike moved to Phoenix and soon after started Phoenix Gymnastics & Dance Academy. Under Mike and Donna’s (his wife) direction, Phoenix Gymnastics & Dance Academy has become known for developing some of the best gymnasts in Arizona.
Over the years, Donna has served as the State Director for USA Gymnastics in Arizona. She has also been a member of the State Executive Committee and a board member of Arizona Women’s Gymnastics Judges Association. Donna is currently an Elite level Judge and has had the honor to judge the Junior Olympic National Championships and NCAA National Championship.
