Every Kid's Dentist & Orthodontist

January 26, 2015

The American Dental Association (ADA) encourages developing good dental habits at an early age and scheduling regular dental visits helps children get a good start on a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums.

Which is why we decided to finally take our daughter for her first orthodontist consultation. She has been seeing a regular dentist since she was 3 but it was now time to take that pre-teen leap to braces. She is 10 years old and quite the diva…

We decided to seek out Every Kid's Dentist & Orthodontics (at Tatum and Deer Valley) for our orthodontia care.  From the moment we walked in the door the office was inviting and kid-friendly and the staff very pleasant and accommodating.

After having our palate expander for about 4 months we were introduced to braces.  Just 4, on the upper teeth, but they are supposed to straighten her teeth so they can pull her canines and let her adult teeth fill in naturally.  The process of getting braces was "painless" according to my daughter.  Doesn't she look pretty?

The braces were great and did the trick.  Her  upper teeth are now straight but we still have a long way to go.  Last week we got a new kind of wire put in.  This is supposed to help push her teeth back together so there are no gaps in between.  So far so good.  I'm super impressed with how fast her teeth went from a jumbled mess to pretty darn cute!

Stay tuned for future updates on our journey to braces!
