John C. Lincoln Sonoran Health and Emergency Center

September 11, 2014
I had the pleasure recently of receiving a private tour of the new John C. Lincoln Sonoran Health and Emergency Center.

I new it was an emergency center but quite frankly I had no idea it was also a nationally recognized breast health center but also offered state-of-the-art imaging services.  Sonoran Health and Emergency Center is a free-standing emergency center located just east of I17 and Dove Valley.

The Emergency Center only employs board-certified physicians, registered nurses and respiratory therapists to provide the best care to everyone that walks through the doors.  The emergency department offers 24/7 care for treatment.

The John C. Lincoln Breast Health and Research Center has a national reputation for excellence. It was the first in Arizona to offer low-dose 3D mammography. The location at Sonoran offers state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and interventional technologies in a caring and comfortable spa-like setting.  There is even a "man" room so the guys can watch sports, read hunting and fishing magazines and relax in a lounge chair.

Low-dose 3D mammography can detect breast cancers at earlier, more treatable stages, with reduced exposure and less compression time. Through 3D imaging, more of the inner architecture of the breast can be seen without distortion typically caused by tissue shadowing or density.

Other services offered include:

  • Bone density screenings.
  • Body composition assessments.
  • Care coordination.

To schedule an appointment at the Breast Health and Research Center on the campus of Sonoran Health and Emergency Center call 623-780-HOPE (4673). For information about breast health, visit the John C. Lincoln Breast Health and Research Center page.
