Local Families Are Gearing Up for Semi-annual Event in North Phoenix

Kid's Closet Connection is a local semi-annual sale connecting people who want to sell gently-used children's items to those who want to purchase quality kid’s items at a fraction of retail prices.  This fall, Kid’s Closet Connection will be conducting its fifth seasonal sale at City North Center, 5315 E High Street, Phoenix.  Sale dates are Thursday-Saturday, September 20-22. City North is located just east of Desert Ridge at 53rd and Deer Valley Rd.

“In these tough economic times, here’s a great way for families to sell clothes their kids have grown out of, toys they no longer play with and children’s toys and furniture they no long use,” says Ken Leathers, organizer of the Phoenix valley-wide sales. “It also provides gently used items at affordable prices to other families that need them.  Families hit by the struggling economy now have a way to sell their outgrown children's items and mom's with tight pocketbooks can purchase nearly new, top quality kid's merchandise at 60-90% off retail."

Kid’s Closet Connection provides the facilities and staff to run the sale while consignors make 70-percent of the profit from the items they sell, without working the sale. People who shop the sale can buy gently-used children and teen clothing; strollers; car seats; baby equipment; kid's furniture; toys; outdoor play equipment; exer-saucers; books; DVDs; computer software and educational items for children. The sale is organized with a state-of-the-art tagging and scanning system to make check-out easy.  Over a 175 families are expected to participate as sellers at the sale.  “It just makes sense to use Kid's Closet Connection to help recycle outgrown children's items that are otherwise in great condition,” Leathers says.

Kid’s Closet Connection is also partnering with Hope Kids, a local organization that provides ongoing events and activities for families who have a child with cancer or some other life-threatening medical condition.  Many unsold items will be donated to the not-for-profit organization, which uses proceeds from the sale of leftover items to fund their activities within the Valley.

Admission is free and children are welcome to attend with their parents.  Sale hours for the first two days (which offers the best selection) are 9am to 6pm.  Most remaining items are marked down 50% for the last day of the sale where sale hours are 9am to 3pm.  We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, AmEx and Discover.  Strollers and infants are welcome to attend.
