Hawks Kay Resort - A Mac Kid Review

September 24, 2015
When I found out that the 2015 Macaroni Kid Publisher Silver Daisy trip was going to be in the Florida Keys I was so excited.  As you can imagine, living in Arizona does not afford very many opportunities to see the ocean.  I was even more excited to learn our trip was going to be hosted by Hawks Cay Resort! Hawks Cay is a secluded resort located on the island of Duck Key.

Upon arrival we were immediately greeted and escorted to a private reception area where I was delighted to mingle with my Mac Kid sisters.  We played a friendly game of corn hole (winner received a free spa treatment and yes, I am still a little bitter I didn't win).  We even splashed around in the kiddie pirate ship area.

I was amazed at how family-friendly the resort is.  Not far from the main hotel lobby is an area especially for families.  Families can enjoy their own pool, splash pad, basketball court, swings and large area for kids to throw the ball around or play tag.  Hawks Cay thought of everything for families....from babysitting services to teen nights, miniature golf and tennis, there was something fun for kids of all ages.

They offer an entire list of family-friendly outings as well....whiffle ball games, kayak rentals, boat excursions, sunset cruises, a Dolphin encounter (yes, 2 real Dolphins are on property) and so much more.  You can check out all of the family-friendly programs and happenings HERE.

But rest assured, it's also the perfect destination for adults as well - including an adult-only pool and personal bar service.

Our room accommodations were amazing as well.  Every room in the main hotel has a view of the ocean.  Some even have walk-out decks that are adjacent to the pool.

But I think my favorite part of the trip, besides the beautiful views and sunsets, was the food.  There is almost nothing better than seafood you know is local and fresh.
